Five stand out 2023 players from the Phenom Hoops Hardwood Classic
2023 Tyrese Melo (Run the Citi): Melo was back in action with Phenom Hoops, and it was good to see more about his game and what he can provide on the court. Last year, you really got a chance to see more of his scoring impact, but now he has been mixing it up in showing how he can help run a team on the court. On Day 3 though, Melo was quite impressive vs. CP3 in going back to being a big-time weapon, knocking down shots, creating off the dribble, being a primary creator, and making quality decisions with the ball in his hands.
2023 Chris Fields (Boo Williams): Fields had our scouts buzzing after his play throughout the event, as the 6’6 strong and sturdy prospect put on a show. With his frame, he can be such a tough matchup on the floor; bringing a well-rounded game, scoring in a variety of ways, and physically overpowering his opponents. Fields can make his impact felt in a variety of ways, and he had a tremendous showing throughout the event.
2023 Seth Johnson (Team University): Johnson led the charge in a big way for his team, as Team University went 4-0 at the event. Johnson made a name for himself, as he was a big offensive weapon and capped it off with an impressive 43-point performance. Scoring off the dribble, knocking down shots from behind, getting to the line… he did it all and had a very consistent showing throughout the event.
2023 Kaelan Marsh (Cap City): Marsh has had a very good few weeks with Phenom Hoops, as he continues to pop up as a standout with his play. Time after time, he has been able to help carry his team to big victories, shooting the ball really well with a smooth release. He has terrific range and has been known for his shot-making, but Marsh also can find ways to be effective in other ways.
2023 Kendrell Brooks (Team Jumpstart): Brooks continues to shine and be the clear leader on the floor with his team each time he comes on the Phenom Hoops platform. Brooks is a sturdy guard that understands how to create and make plays for himself, can finish strong at the rim, but also knock down shots from a variety of levels. Knows how to be a go-to scorer and a creator for himself.
